Walk

Walk

You wake up late one night,
unable to fall back to sleep.
You are thinking far too much.
Your mind won't relax.

You decide to take a walk.
Let your mind wander.
You walk along the road
and then off to a path
that leads to the woods.
You enter the dark beauty.

As you look around
you see fireflies dancing about,
lil woodland creatures scampering,
the moonlight penetrating,
through the trees
lighting your way.

With all this beauty and peace
you feel awkward and alone.
You think you don't belong
That you should leave.
That you have no place here,
or anywhere.

But you continue to walk
through the moonlit forest.
Surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Never fearing that
someone will hurt you.
Just that you don't belong here,
or anywhere.

Even with your self doubts, you hear a small voice
telling you that
you do belong here.

For in the forest you are
surrounded by mother nature.
She loves you.
You are part of her.
You belong with her.
