Darkness

I laid there in the darkness,
Silence lingered in the room
Swirled with the darkness.
The only noises came from my heart.
It wept,
silently I cried.
Alone in darkness.
Push it down,
Far down into the pits
Of your mind.
Ignore it, move on.
Don't let your face
Contort in pain with your soul.
Swallow, swallow it down.
Replace it with sugar coated memories.
