Angel in the Moon
Angel in the Moon
Glimpsing out the window,
In the latter-half of a
clear solstice eve,
I saw the moon.
It loomed with brilliance,
And with great bliss.
I called to it and said,
"What as changed your demeanor so?"
"What friend has made you glisten
with the light of heaven?"
The moon beamed,
And whispered to me,
"It is the angel that lives within me."
I, astonished, replied,
"I thought of such heavenly beings,
only to dwell in dreams and fairy-tales."
The moon winked and smiled,
"They dwell in those with wounded hearts,
those with broken spirits.
She came and touched me,
Soared above me,
And kissed me.
Forever part of my heart,
Forever in my spirit."
Smiling at the thought,
"So this delicate creature,
has tamed the tears
of the all-mighty moon?"
The moon nodded and repeated,
"Forever part of my heart,
Forever in my spirit."
And with that he wept,
Not in mourning but in rapture.
His tear fell upon me,
And healed my wounds.
And there and forever,
The angel dwelled within me,
Forever part of my heart,
Forever in my spirit.
